Game Title: "Student Vs Zombies: Academytis"
This week was a catch up week for the blogs, pulling together thoughts and concept art and also tutor meetings in the session to iron out any programming issues with the placeholder game development.
Project Steps (and Programming)
Tiling Textures
This week was spent making the spritesheet to use to tile the world. I started creating the interior tiles for the inside of the university. The inside was designed to look like grey modern concrete walls, with random tiles of darker texture, TV screens, cracks, doors and random columns to add interest and collisions.
The exterior tiles included grass, water, roads, paths and the "unreachable" areas. These are areas of the map that can't be accessed by the player and are external to the building.
These were added to a tile palette which allowed me to paint the world with tiles...the next problem was how to i combine the inside and outside worlds and travel between them....
